Training Objectives
1. Examine the body of knowledge constituted by the Professional Practices for the Management of business continuity, designed to assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of Business Continuity Programs (BCM Program). 2. To highlight the terms and methodologies presented in the International Glossary of Resilience and DRI Professional Practices. 3. Prepare the candidate for the certification exam.
Training Program
Lesson 1: Program Management
• Determine the need for a business continuity program.
• Obtain support and funding for the business continuity programme.
• Establishment of an organizational framework to support the business continuity program.
• Introduce key concepts such as program management, risk awareness, identification
critical functions/processes, remediation strategies, training and awareness, and
exercises/tests.
Lesson 2: Risk assessment.
• Identify risks that may adversely affect an organization’s resources or image.
• Assessing risks and identifying potential impacts on the organization, allowing the organization to
determine the most efficient use of resources to reduce these potential impacts.
Lesson 3: Business Impact Analysis.
• Identify and prioritize the functions and processes of the organization to determine who will have the
more impact if not available.
• Assess the resources required to support the business impact assessment process.
• Analyze results to identify possible gaps between organizational needs and capacity
to satisfy them.
Lesson 4: Business Continuity Strategies
• Select cost-effective strategies, including cost-effective strategies, to reduce disabilities
identified during the risk assessment and market impact assessment processes.
Lesson 5: Preparing and responding to incidents
• Develop and assist the organization in implementing an incident management system that defines roles
the organization, lines of command and climbing processes.
• Define requirements for the development and implementation of the incident response plan
organization. Ensure that incident response is coordinated with external organizations
in a timely and efficient manner, if necessary.
Lesson 6: Development and implementation of the plan
• Document plans to be used in an incident to enable the organization to continue to
function.
Lesson 7: Awareness and training programs.
• Establish and maintain training and awareness-raising programmes that enable the
to respond calmly and effectively to incidents.
Lesson 8: Exercise/test, evaluation and maintenance of business continuity plan
• Implement a program of exercises, evaluation and maintenance to maintain the state of
preparation.
Lesson 9: Crisis communication
• Provide a framework for the development of a crisis communication plan.
• Ensure that the crisis communication plan provides for rapid and effective communication with the
internal and external parts.
Lesson 10: Coordination with External Agencies and Resources
• Establish policies and procedures to coordinate incident response activities with agencies
Government.
Lesson 11: Review for the Qualification Examination
• Review the important concepts of each of the previous lessons.
• Prepare for the qualification examination by examining the questions of the practical examination
